Shores

Sisters' Islands

Singapore's first marine park, set up in 2014, covers the two Sisters' Islands and the reefs around them and nearby islands. At very low tides the reef flats come out of the water and you can see living coral without getting wet.

Habitats
Reef flat, lagoon, rocky shore
Getting there
By boat only; there's no regular public ferry
How to see it
Guided walks on Big Sister's Island; Little Sister's is set aside for conservation

How to see it

Getting there means a boat, and visiting the shore usually means a guided walk. NParks runs walks on Big Sister's Island; Little Sister's Island is kept for conservation and research. Walk dates follow the tides, so they're announced only a few weeks or months ahead.

What to look for

Hard and soft corals, giant clams if you're lucky, anemones, sea cucumbers and nudibranchs. Corals are easily broken, so on the reef flat you go where the guide goes.
